The Eclipta Alba Hassk is of the Asteraceae family. It is recognised as bhringoraaja, bhangraa, and karissalaankanni in the three primary kinds of traditional medical systems in the Indian subcontinent, namely Ayurveda, Unani, and Siddha. Although this plant and its parts are used to treat a variety of ailments, ethno-medicinal reports suggest that the most common uses are for respiratory tract disorders, hair loss and greying, liver disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, fever, skin disorders, spleen enlargement, cuts and wounds, etc.
